Stroud and district residents have until March 9 to comment on plans to upgrade Allen Park.
Allen Park has long been used by the Stroud and surrounding communities. In order to meet the growing needs of this area, the park is now ready for a much needed upgrade.
“Great Lakes Council has been working closely with interested parties to ensure the proposed improvements meet the needs of the community and it is hoped these improvements will be well received and provide a focal point for the area” said Council’s Manager Parks & Recreation, David Bortfeld.
The proposed upgrade will provide the local community and visitors to the area with a much needed neighbourhood playground, including a state of the art playground, new picnic facilities, a small learn to cycle track and landscaping works.
A draft Landscape Master Plan highlighting the proposed works has now been prepared and Council is calling for public comment on the proposal. A copy of the plan is on exhibition at Allen Park and at Council’s Stroud District Office. The exhibition of the plan closes on Wednesday 29 February 2012 with submissions being received until Friday 9 March 2012.
If you wish to comment on the draft Landscape Master Plan please address all submissions in writing to the General Manager, Great Lakes Council, PO Box 450 Forster 2428.
