Business award nominations deadline extended until Friday

05 Aug, 2009 04:00 AM
The Gloucester Business Chamber has extended its business awards nomination deadline by another week.

“It has been a really busy time and we would like to make sure that everyone who wants to nominate a business or employee has the chance to do so,” Chamber president Dallas Stokes said.

The response to the customer service awards has been great with many nominations being forwarded to the Chamber, some of the business categories however have not seen the same level of support and we encourage businesses to think about nominating themselves or assist someone complete their business nomination.

“The process does look a little complex on first analysis” Dallas said “but when you think about it and start to pull it together it is quite simple and we are only looking for four or five pages altogether, although some people will obviously want to develop something more complex.”

“The nominations will now close this Friday August 7, which should still give us plenty of time to have nomination assessments done for the Awards Dinner on August 22,” Dallas said.

Award nomination outlines can be collected from the Chamber office in the Majestic Arcade or ring or email the office to organise a copy to you. The chamber office can be contacted on 0408 445 326 or e: gloucester.chamber@bigpond.com

There are still seats available for the awards dinner which will be held at the Gloucester Country Club on Saturday August 22.

You can book a seat or a table at the Gloucester Book Exchange at 75 Church Street Gloucester.

Seats for the evening cost $40 and that includes a sumptuous meal and a great evening’s entertainment. So you can book and sit with friends and recognize excellence in local business within your own community and maybe pick up some great ideas to implement within your own business.

On the evening it is proposed to recognise businesses and individuals from the following categories:

1. School Based Trainees

2. Trainees

3. Apprentices

4. Employees with a disability

5. Tourism and hospitality businesses

6. Innovation in manufacturing businesses

7. Professional services

8. Retail services

9. Trade based businesses

10. Rural and agribusiness services

11. And Customer Service Awards.

Nomination forms can be completed and delivered to the Chamber offices or to the Gloucester Book exchange before the close of business on Friday August 7.
