Gloucester Shire Council has been invited to give evidence at the Coal Seam Gas inquiry sitting in Taree next Monday.
Council will join representatives from both Great Lakes and Greater Taree City Council in giving evidence.
At last week’s Gloucester Shire Council meeting councillors elected deputy mayor Cr John Rosenbaum and Cr Jerry Germon, who is a member of the AGL community consultative committee, to attend the inquiry on their behalf.
Taree is one of six locations to hold a public hearing as part of the upper house inquiry into coal seam gas activities.
The day-long session, to be held on October 31, will give resident the chance to have their say on the issue.
