The day turned out to be anything but chilly and shoppers were keen to grab the hottest bargains they could find at the 2009 Chill Out Day celebrations in Gloucester.
Church Street was filled with bargain hunters and those just wanting to enjoy the festivities, with market stalls, entertainment, a wood chop, and plenty of discounts from local retailers up for grabs.
In Billabong Park a dog show and pony rides drew plenty of attention while at Farley Gates more than 100 vehicles turned up for the Mid North Coast Ford Owners Club show and shine event, even one bravely badged Commodore driven by local highway patrol officers.
The team from Yates and Twomey, with competitors John and Andrew Neilson, taking out the golden gumboot trophy in the Chill Out country challenge, taking the prize from the Chamber of Commerce team and the Westpac Rescue Helicopter Support Group entry.
Chamber of Commerce president Dallas Stokes was happy with the response to the day. He said there was a good crowd at the event throughout the day, and local retailers once again provided strong support for the day.
