All that was missing were the shoes…
Gloucester’s VIEW Club members had emptied their wardrobes of hats and handbags for their first meeting of the year and brought along not only the much loved pieces but also the stories that went with them.
Among the impressive display of were a bag that was part of a set of luggage from a 21st birthday gift and some hats that had been handed on from mother to daughter. Some of the hats had their first outings in the 40s and 50s, others the 60s and some on Melbourne Cup Day 2009.
No matter the story, all have been lovingly stored and modelling the pieces brought back plenty of memories and provided plenty of laughs for those at the meeting.
Gloucester’s VIEW Club meets monthly and raises funds to support the work of The Smith Family. In particular the club sponsors three students through The Smith Family’s Learning for Life program.
