The Gloucester Patchwork Group have put their creative skills to good use and made more than 40 turbans to be used by women who may be losing their hair as a result of chemotherapy.
The group handed over the impressive collection of head wear last Monday, on Pink Ribbon Day.
The turbans, created from soft knit fabrics, come in a variety of colours and will be cared for by local breast cancer support group member Diana Rosenbaum. Diana can be contacted on 6558 1515 by anyone wanting a turban.
The patchworkers said the turbans are not just for women going through breast cancer treatment, but any women receiving chemotherapy for any cancer or leukaemia treatment who may be losing her hair as a result.
The patchwork group will make a continuing supply of turbans and have asked that anyone with left over soft knit fabrics not to throw it out, or put it in the back of the cupboard, but to drop it into Kerry at Kerry B Quilting (previously Playful Platypus) or call Liz Martin on 6558 9774 and have it turned into a turban, or turban trim.
