Jean and Joyce made life members

04 Nov, 2009 03:00 AM
The 30th anniversary of the Gloucester Senior Citizens Centre was marked with the presentation of two life memberships, to Jean Britton and Joyce Dare.

Jean joined the Senior Citizens Club in 1974 and Joyce in 1975.

The club was first formed in 1972 with 100 members and when the Senior Citizens Centre opened in 1979 there were 180 financial members.

The 30th birthday lunch was enjoyed by a smaller crowd compared to when the centre opened, but all enjoyed the lunch and entertainment provided by the local line dancing group.

The highlight of the lunch was the naming of the two new life members Jean Britton and Joyce Dare who also helped cut the birthday cake with members with Jean Forbes and Joyce Idstein.
