It wasn’t a big top, but the circus skills on show in the Gloucester High School auditorium last week were circus-impressive.
Stilt walking, juggling and creating a human pyramid. Just some of the new-found skills of a group of local students who hit the circus classroom for two days as part of a school holiday clinic run by Club Kickstart.
Circus skills instructor Jill Watkins put the would-be circus performers through their paces for a show and tell session at the end of the two day school, with students each performing their favourite two activities.
Club Kickstart will now continue to offer the circus skills program due to the success and popularity of the first program.
Club Kickstart’s program for term three includes a range of activities on Friday nights, among them a games night (team building games, physical activity and fun), self defence for women and girls, boxing night and a circus school night.
Club Kickstart operates from the Rec Centre between 6pm and 7.30pm on Friday nights, call Ted for more information on 6558 4410.
