Just how much good entertainment can Gloucester take. Plenty apparently.
Last Thursday saw the Senior Citizen’s Centre alive with the music of Scarlet Attraction. Two sisters, Nerida and Melia Naughton, who have charmed audiences from Memphis to Melbourne, gave a performance of songs in their own inimitable style.
They accompanied themselves on piano, guitar and flute and the programme included many of their own compositions, which in themselves told stories of their lives.
The girls also showed their fun side as they introduced the songs with some amusing anecdotes.
The night also gave a chance to two up and coming performers to showcase their talent. Jemma Wilkinson sang and played guitar with the confidence of a seasoned performer and this was evidenced when she joined Scarlet Affection in a wonderful rendition of Country Road.
Alex Leighton came on stage and shared with the audience his amazement as to why his girlfriend had broken up with him.
Alex is a very talented young man and showed he has a natural aptitude for comedy, one of the hardest mediums in theatre. He drew much laughter during his monologue and received many compliments after his performance.
Thank you to the people who have attended the entertainment during the year, spread the word and we hope to more of you in 2009 - MH
