It’s a case of seeing triple at Stroud Public School with three sets of twins in one class.
While it is unusual to have even one set of twins in a small school, the likelihood of three sets in a learning institution of just 73 is remarkable.
And lucky for teacher Sue Steele, only one set is identical.
Two sets of twins started kindergarten last week while Elise and Kate Moore are now in year 1.
The newest additions are Kobi and Grace Greenham and Tiana and Tameka Klein.
“It’s been over 20 years since I have taught twins and they were boys at Coonamble,” Mrs Steele said.
“Tiana and Tameka are identical and their mother has kindly put different coloured bands in their hair so I can tell them apart.
“But the more you are with them you can notice slight differences.
“However when they are apart it is a little harder.”
Mrs Steele said it is important to treat each child as an individual.
“When Kate and Elise started last year they wanted to be together all the time, but they soon started mixing with the other children.
“Even though twins may look alike, they are two separate identities.”
Being the older children in the class, Kate and Elise had a few words of wisdom for their younger classmates.
“You have to listen in class,” Kate said, “and there are rules for the playground.
Elise said Mrs Steele “was a nice teacher”.
“She doesn’t get mad very often,” she said.
