Just to give an update on our news
Three of our young riders headed out to Scone for the Anzac Weekend to attend the State Sporting and Campdraft events. On Saturday, Samantha Harris, Brodie Preston and Jack Wilson competed in the Sporting Events. Even though they didn’t bring home any ribbons, All competed very well and made the club extremely proud. They helped Zone 25 to win the march past. In some events there was only half a second between first and 10th place. There were 92 kids competing in their age group, so well done, guys. We hope you all had fun while you were there.
On Sunday May 10, Mothers Day. Hope all mothers had a terrific, lazy day, being looked after by their families. We held our first ribbon day for the year. After a lovely morning of Instruction with Bernie and Dave McMinn, the kids stopped for lunch, cooked by John Barkwell, thankyou John , lunch was delicious. Then they went straight into ribbon day. Drizzly rain didn’t deter the riders, it stopped as soon as the kids had finished competing, so the presentation went ahead after the kids had changed into something drier.
A big thank you to Marie Gregory for being our Judge for the day, and lastly a very big thank you to Dave McMinn for the lovely, hot scones he made for the morning tea, as my oven was not working.
Liz did admit that Dave did make the scones and not one of his girls. It was a lovely and very thoughtful thing to do for our Mothers.

This weekend will be the Stroud Interclub day on the Saturday, all are invited to go, Wingham Pony Club are having a dressage day on Saturday, with an Interclub day on Sunday. Both events are to be held at the Taree Showground. Mt Hutton is holding a showriding competition on Sunday as well. St Joeys school are holding a campdraft weekend at the Wingham showground this weekend too. So there are lots to do and places to go, go along and check out the action, watch the young ones at work. Good luck to everyone going off to compete at any of the events.
A reminder to everyone that Gloucester’s Interclub day will be on Sunday June 7, the long weekend. All are welcome to attend the day as either a competitor or a spectator. Canteen facilities will be available.
The Zone 25 camp will be on from October 6 to October 11 this year, at the Gloucester Showground. Paper work to be sent out soon to all clubs, so watch out for this. Norm Bartlett will be cooking our first meat, a lovely spit roast and vegies. We are still after volunteer instructors and Associate riders as team leaders. If you wish to volunteer your skill or service for the camp, please contact Susan Harris 65591521 or Debbie Hanson 65591617 to let us know your preference. Camp will be open to both Zone 25 and Zone 9 affiliated riders from 5 to 17 years.
