Rain bowls cricket over

08 Feb, 2012 03:00 AM
For the second week in a row, rain washed out the senior cricket games scheduled for last weekend.

With three weeks of regular competition remaining, cricketers from all sides will be hoping for sunnier days ahead as each team has something to play for. For Rawdon Vale, Stroud and Cavaliers, their goal is the minor premiership, for Soldiers and Colts the goal is to finish in fourth spot, make the semis, and yes, avoid that wooden spoon.

In this weekend’s games, the Rawdon Vale Knowla Bulls take on Soldiers on No 1 oval while Colts make the trip down the Buckets Way to play against Stroud. Top Pub Cavaliers have the bye and umpiring duties.
