Fire burns through remote bushland

A 175-hecatre fire is burning through remote scrubland 60 kilometres west of Taree.

The NSW National Parks and Wildlife Service is managing the blaze at Ernies Flat, south of Nowendoc, in Barakee National Park.

The North Coast region of the state – which includes the locqal government areas of Bellingen, Coffs Harbour, Gloucester, Great Lakes, Greater Taree, Kempsey, Nambucca and Port Macquarie-Hastings – has a high fire danger rating today.
