Ms Ausling toured the Gloucester Men’s Shed, Gloucester Museum and the Tucker Patch as part of her visit as well as visiting the CBD and industrial area. Gloucester is one of 64 towns across NSW vying for this year’s award.
At Gloucester Museum, Ms Ausling spoke with representatives from the local Chamber of Commerce and the Historical Society about the Centenary of Rail celebrations held in May.
She was presented with a DVD of the weekend’s festivities as well as a full run-down of the events that were held.
Ms Ausling’s visit was hosted by Gloucester Shire Council’s waste services coordinator Tania Parkinson and Tidy Towns coordinators Lucy Germon and Norma Fisher.
Gloucester was the first winner of the NSW Tidy Towns title in 1981, but has not won the title since.
