A GLOUCESTER teen will face Taree Local Court next month after a vicious domestic assault that left his brother in hospital.
The 18-year-old had been drinking alcohol in Billabong Park on the night of August 18 when he returned to his home on Elliot St and became involved in a physical altercation with his 19-year-old brother.
During the altercation, the older brother was pinned to a table and repeatedly assaulted.
He was eventually able to secure his release by using a glass to hit his brother over the head.
Police were called and the 18-year-old man was arrested and charged with assault occasioning actual bodily harm and common assault.
His brother was taken to Gloucester Soldiers Memorial Hospital where he was treated for facial injuries overnight.
The 18-year-old has been served with a Domestic Violence Order and released on conditional bail to appear at court on September 3.
