DUNCAN ‘Bronco Billy’ Brown represented Gloucester Pistol Club at the Queensland titles recently.
Duncan competed in the western action division against 101 other shooters from across Australia.
Western action involves shooters dressing up in 1850s-style Wild West garb.
Competitors also use pistols, lever action rifles and shotguns to shoot steel plates.
The aim of the competition is to knock down targets as quickly as possible within a certain time period.
Bronco Billy finished third in his division, behind two of the fastest shooters in the country, and 11th overall.
He was first in the speed rifle competition, where shooters fire 10 shots at steel targets as fast as they can with a lever-action rifle.
Bronco Billy finished second in the Pat Garrett competition and third in the speed pistol division.
