TWO Gloucester Primary students will lose their locks as part of a charity fundraising event at the Gloucester Relay for Life on September 14.
Elizabeth ‘EJ’ Blanch and friend Shelby Foot will both have 20cm removed from their pony tails with the hair to be used in the manufacture of wigs for cancer sufferers.
Both girls will also participate in the Relay for Life, with EJ in the ‘Medical Marvels’ team and Shelby in the ‘Super Foots’.
The girls are challenging any other men, women or children with long hair to join them for the fundraiser, with any additional funds raised going to the Cancer Council.
To support the girls, make a donation at the Gloucester Medical Centre, the Gloucester Advocate or turn up on the day.
The Gloucester Relay for Life will be held on Saturday and Sunday, September 14 to 15.
Organisers are hoping for as many as 30 teams with about half that already registered.
