THE Stroud Raiders are through to the grand final of the Newcastle Hunter Rugby League C grade competition after a comprehensive 38-10 win over minor premiers Gateshead.
The Raiders’ impressive late season form saw them climb the ladder to finish third behind Gateshead and the Dungog Warriors at the end of 18 rounds.
After a nail-biting 26-24 win against the Warriors in the first semi last week, the Raiders stampeded over the Zebras to be the first side into this year’s grand final.
They will play either Gateshead or Newcastle University, with the students defeating the Warriors 16-14 in Saturday’s minor semi final.
The grand final will be played at 11.40am on Saturday, September 14 at Harker Oval in New Lambton.
