DAVID Fraser’s taking his chicken, chive and sweet corn sausages to the State titles.
Judges at the Mid North Coast Sausage King awards rated David’s creations the top poultry sausages in the region.
David has owned Avon Valley Meats for the past eight years and is a regular entrant in the Sausage King awards.
He returned from the recent regional judging with a swag of other awards, including a third place for his traditional Australian sausages, a second for his lamb, pumpkin feta and shallots gourmet creations and a third for his beef, bacon and fresh parsley sausages in the gourmet-open class.
Avon Valley Meats offers about 15 different variety of sausages with the lamb, chicken and traditional beef varieties among the most popular with customers.
“We like to mix it up as much as possible,” David said.
“Every week we offer customers between eight and 10 different varieties. We’re always experimenting with different flavours.”
First place winners from the regional titles progress to the State Sausage King final to be held at The Entrance on Saturday, November 9.
