Teen charged with assaulting police
A GLOUCESTER teen has been remanded in custody for assaulting police.
The 19-year-old was found hiding in shrubs and weeds along Billabong Creek in Billabong Park on August 15.
The teen was wanted for breaching his bail conditions.
He was taken to Taree Police Station where he was charged.
The teen allegedly assaulted several police officers during his arrest and also destroyed a mattress in one of the cells.
He was remanded in custody and charged with breaching his bail (District Court), resisting arrest, assaulting police and malicious damage.
Three hospitalised after crashes
POLICE are investigating two accidents on stretches of the Thunderbolts Way that left three people in hospital earlier this month.
A 52-year-old man was taken to John Hunter Hospital suffering minor injuries after crashing his motorcycle on September 12.
A week earlier, on September 7, emergency service crews were called to a single vehicle rollover.
Both the driver and passenger in the vehicle were taken to John Hunter Hospital with significant injuries.
Inquiries into both crashes are continuing.
Guilty plea after brother bashed
A GLOUCESTER teen has been fined after pleading guilty to an assault that left his brother in hospital.
The 18-year-old was arrested at an Elliot St address on August 12 after a confrontation with his older brother.
The teen was charged with assault occasioning actual bodily harm, common assault and was also served with an apprehended domestic violence order.
Terrace man caught drink driving
A RAYMOND TERRACE man has had his licence suspended after he was caught drink driving.
The 20-year-old was stopped by police on Phillip Street for the purpose of a random breath test on August 25 and later returned a mid-range blood alcohol reading of 0.135.
The man will appear at Raymond Terrace Local Court in October.
P-plater had been drinking
A P-plate driver will face court later this month after he was caught drink driving.
The 36-year-old from the Upper Bowman area was stopped by police for a road side breath test in Barrington on August 28.
The driver later returned a blood alcohol reading of 0.03.
He was charged with a special range prescribed concentration of alcohol and will appear at Gloucester Local Court on September 25.
Driving without a licence
A GLOUCESTER will face court later this month after he was caught driving without a licence.
The 48-year-old was stopped by police on Barrington St after checks by police revealed the man’s licence had expired.
The man will appear at Gloucester Local Court on September 25.
Senior's licence suspended
POLICE have charged an elderly Gloucester man with drink driving.
The 66-year-old was stopped by police on Ravenshaw St on September 13 for the purpose of a random breath test.
He later returned a mid-range blood alcohol reading of 0.111.
The man’s licence was suspended and he will appear in Gloucester Local Court on September 25.
Man find after lewd acts
A GLOUCESTER man has been fined $200 after exposing his buttocks outside a local hotel late on the night of September 13.
The 21-year-old continually took hold of a crutch he was using and performed pelvic thrusts while giving the ‘bird’ with his other hand.
At the time a large number of people of were in the vicinity.
Teen was under age
A GLOUCESTER teen has been fined $220 for entering a licensed premises without supervision.
The 15-year-old was fined for entering and remaining in an unauthorised area of a hotel last Friday.
The youth was not in the company of a responsible person as defined in the Act.
He attempted to conceal his location and identity from police and on the first occasion was located in a front beer garden. A short time later the youth entered the rear smokers’ lounge.
School windows broken
POLICE are seeking information after two windows were broken in the A and B blocks at Gloucester High School.
The windows were broken between 2pm on Wednesday, September 11 and 9am on Thursday, September 12.
