GLOUCESTER has welcomed a towering 10m high statue.
The statue will visit during a three-day ‘Secrets of Prophecy’ seminar, which will be run by the Seventh-day Adventist Church in Gloucester from September 20.
The towering blow-up structure represents the ‘Dream of Nebuchadnezzar’, a Babylonian king who reigned from 605 to 562BC.
In the Bible, the second chapter of the Book of Daniel relates a story attributed to the second year of Nebuchadnezzar’s reign, in which he dreams of a huge image made of various materials (gold, silver, bronze, iron and clay).
Daniel tells Nebuchadnezzar God’s interpretation of the dream - that it stands for the rise and fall of world powers - starting with Nebuchadnezzar’s own as the golden head.
Nebuchadnezzar was credited with the construction of the Hanging Gardens of Babylon and the destruction of the First Temple.
The three-day prophecy seminar will be hosted by the director of the Discovery Centre, Australia, Lyle Southwell and will address four main topics; Secrets of Prophecy; Does God Care; Who Will Control the World; and Signs of the Times.
The seminar is free and is open to all. To book, phone 0447 444 424.
