A BARRINGTON man has received a six-month suspended prison sentence after threatening to kill another man while armed with a screw driver.
Todd Hadley Gleeson, 27, had approached the victim outside the toilet block in Billabong Park about 1.35pm on July 1 and threatened the man with a screw driver.
Three days earlier the victim and an elderly friend of Gleeson had been involved in a heated argument outside a local service provider.
In the local court last week magistrate Shaughan McCosker said Gleeson would face jail time if he reoffended.
“Although there is an explanation for your behaviour it is no excuse,” Mr McCosker said.
“You have a capacity to continue to make poor decisions and are incapable of controlling your emotions.
“You have an atrocious history in relation to violent matters. There are no more chances. If you continue with this behaviour you will be put in prison.”
