THE Allworth and District Social Fishing Club’s annual Flathead Classic will be held on the weekend of November 2 and 3.
The event takes place in the Karuah River with competitors leaving from the Allworth boat ramp and fishing as far downriver as the second (old) bridge at Karuah.
The classic kicks off at 6am Saturday and ends at midday Sunday.
Weigh-ins will be held from 6am to 6pm on Saturday and 6am to 12pm on Sunday.
Prizes will be awarded for the largest flathead, largest accumulated length, largest other species and oddball, among others.
A canteen will operate throughout both days of the competition and anglers can stop in for either breakfast or lunch.
The presentation will take place at the boat ramp at 1pm on Sunday.
Camping will be available on Saturday night at Rob Waters’ Allworth property.
Anglers can register before the event or from 5.30am on Saturday, November 2.
Registration will remain open until the conclusion of the competition.
Children’s events will be held at the campsite next to the boat ramp on Saturday afternoon including a casting competition, colouring-in competition and a mini disco.
