BRETT Radford turned in one of the best bowling performances of his long career to lead Rawdon Vale to a comfortable win over Mount George in Gloucester cricket on Saturday.
Radford finished with the incredible figures of seven wickets for just 19 runs as Mount George failed in its attempts to reel in Rawdon Vale’s total of 7-183.
Earlier, Michael Fraser had shown good form with the bat to notch 65 on his return to the Rawdon Vale fold, while Adam Cameron provided handy support with 22.
Radford anchored the innings with an unbeaten 22 while Daniel Carey and Issac Kanyaro both claimed two wickets for Mount George.
A half century to Shane Langeberg (65) provided a glimmer of hope for Mount George but Radford’s impressive haul put paid to any chances of victory as the side was bundled out for 129.
Rawdon Vale remains unbeaten after three rounds. In Saturday’s other match Stroud were no match for the Soldiers Club Colts, as the Colts raced to their second win of the season.
The Stroud batsmen never looked settled at the crease and a team bowling performance by Colts limited the southerners to just 70 runs.
Jack Cohen was the pick with the ball as he claimed 3-14 from a tidy seven-over stint.
In response Colts lost openers Kieran Burley and Bradley Woodbine early, before a quick-fire 32 to Tom Markey resurrected the innings and handed Colts the win.
