The 10-year-old Gloucester Public student has had a year to remember on court, playing and winning numerous tournaments across the State.
In early 2014 Lleyton will play in the City versus Country Challenge at APIA International Stadium at Homebush.
The competition will see four of the best 10-year-old tennis players from the country take on four of their peers from the city.
Lleyton, a passionate sportsman who also swims and plays basketball and touch football, only really took a shine to tennis a year ago.
“He played his first tournament in Raymond Terrace about 15 months ago,” mum Lisa said.
“We couldn’t believe the standard of the kids. But in the past year he’s really progressed to now be the number one 10-year-old in the region.”
Once a week Lleyton travels to Wingham, where he is coached by Shane Ludeke.
He also does weekly hit-ups with Greg Brownlow in either Raymond Terrace or Thornton Park.
“Lleyton was the top point-scorer in the Junior Development Series for the entire Northumberland area this year, which takes in the region between the Central Coast, Raymond Terrace and Scone,” Lisa said.
“He was also part of the Hunter PSSA team and was a reserve for the Super 10s tournament in Sydney.”
