Pharmacy display in keeping with Aussie spirit

THE Gloucester Pharmacy is the winner of this year’s Australia Day shop display.

The pharmacy’s comprehensive display included dozens of tiny hand-painted discs in the shape of an Aboriginal flag as well as a tribute to the country’s surfing history.

The theme for this year’s shop display was ‘Our Land, Our People’. A total of 10 local businesses took part, with numerous innovative displays.

Ann Sansom from Gloucester Health Foods was the winner of the small shop display using small figurines to represent the country’s past and its future.

Harvey World Travel was the runner-up in the large shop display.

The business high-lighted some of the country’s great travel destinations in its photographic display.

Gloucester Real Estate, with its traditional country take on the theme, was the runner-up in the small shop display.

Judge Helen Parsons said the standard of display had again been high.

“It’s great to see so many businesses getting into the spirit,” she said.

The winners were announced during Australia Day celebrations on Sunday.
