Archers start with a bang

AVON Valley Field Archers (AVFA) had a fantastic start to 2014 with a full weekend of archery on the February 8 and 9.

On Saturday, members enjoyed a coaching clinic run by the AVFA coaching team.

The clinic was incredibly informative and covered everything from posture and biomechanics to physics, bow set up and site settings.

Sunday saw an impressive turn out for the club’s first shoot of 2014.

Members were joined by some friends from Tuggerah Lakes Field Archers and 3D-AAA as well as three new families who came along to give archery a go.

Members welcomed back Reade Moffat, while Paul Innes swapped his compound bow for a recurve. Members shot an ABA round on the goanna range.

Final scores (out of 800): Patrick Innes (234), Brett Paddison (340), Stephanie Kiddle (374), Rose Innes (382), Debbie Innes (488), Jesse Kiddle (522), Paul Innes (526), Michael Greenaway (590), Jacob Teasedale (646), Joshua Ford (662), Narelle Cook (702), Annette Stevens (708), Janszen Cook (718), Reade Moffat (730).

The club’s next shoot is on Sunday, February 23. New members are welcome.

Contact club secretary Lynne Fairhall on 0418 166 783 if you would like to give archery a go.
