Financial costs, ongoing low prices, feed shortages and managing stock condition will be discussed at the workshop.
The workshop will cover important information to help famers get through the recovery stage.
LLS district vet Digby Rayward said although the region had received good rain recently, a lot more was needed to replenish dams and ensure pasture growth in preparation for winter.
“With the current ‘green drought’ conditions, producers need to plan ahead for winter in case the follow up rain doesn’t come,” he said.
“Pasture growth is much slower in the winter and livestock feed requirements are higher.
“At these workshops we’ll talk about the current conditions and options, and what producers should be considering for the months ahead as we go into winter.
“Times have been hard and these events are a great opportunity for famers to catch up with friends and neighbours and discuss what strategies their mates have been using.
“Without doubt, ongoing drought conditions cause financial and mental stresses on all of us and advice on these issues will also be covered.”
Landholders can register for a workshop by calling 1300 795 299.
Landholders must RSVP for catering purposes.
