“These people are conmen trying to take advantage of the good will of our community,” general manager Richard Jones said.
“There have been reports in the past week of people in the Gloucester area being phoned and asked to support the service.”
Mr Jones said the service staff and their volunteers are currently selling raffle tickets for the annual Big Backyard Raffle at events and in shopping centres.
The service does not phone or doorknock to raise funds.
Other ways to support the Service are through direct donations via the website www.rescuehelicopter.com.au, contributing through a workplace giving program or by attending events that are hosted throughout the year.
