A MISHMASH of the old and new was how Gloucester chose to celebrate its 100th show.
From period dress, stage coaches and side-saddle riding to a talent quest, chainsaw racing and motocross riders, the 100th show was quite a party.
Organisers had spent months preparing for the historic event.
Opened by the show’s longest serving committee member John Higgins, the show featured a poetry contest, farmers’ challenge, boot throw, wood chop and fashion parade along with a visit by hundreds of local school children on Friday.
It concluded with a bang, as the annual demolition derby and a spectacular fireworks display brought the event to a glorious close.
