The Perth Wildcats captain spent a half hour putting students through their paces on the basketball court last Wednesday.
Martin, enjoying a week off in his home town, spent time on the court with the youngsters before signing posters.
He also popped in on students at his old primary school St Joseph's.
The Joey's students enjoyed taking part in some skills activities and listening to Damian talk about playing in the NBL and how much training he had to do.
The 29-year-old is fresh from claiming an historic fourth consecutive Best Defensive Player of the Year award in the NBL.
No other player has ever managed four in a row.
The Wildcats also claimed the 2014 NBL crown, defeating the Adelaide 36ers in the three-match finals series.
It was Martin’s second title with the Wildcats after the team won the championship in 2010.
Martin was a prolific player on the Australian national junior team and an Australian Institute of Sport scholarship holder in 2002.
He was captain of the Australian team that won the gold medal at the 2003 under 19 world basketball championships.
Martin played division one college basketball in the US for Loyola Marymount University for three years before signing with the West Sydney Razorbacks in the NBL in 2007.
He switched to the Wildcats in 2009 and in May inked a new two-year deal to stay with the Perth-based team for another two years.
Martin was recently forced out of the Australian Boomers squad for a series against China while battling an on-going Achilles injury.
