A GLOUCESTER woman returning from a hospital visit in Taree has been injured in a single vehicle accident on the Bucketts Way.

Police said the accident occurred about 2km east of Gloucester early on Monday afternoon after a white Silver Service sedan crossed to the wrong side of the road and struck a tree.
Emergency service crews were forced to cut the passenger side door from the vehicle to access the woman who was transported by road ambulance to Taree with back injuries.
Police have charged the 59-year-old male driver with negligent driving.
