Local primary producers donated 10 cattle for a charity auction held as part of Gooch Agencies fortnightly store sale last Thursday.
Organiser Mathew Higgins from Gloucester CRT said the fundraiser had been a team effort.
“We had cattle donated by Chris Maslen, Ian ‘Ace’ Middlebrook, Jason Collins, James Laurie, Nick Laurie, Trevor Middlebrook, Rose Everett, Barry Henderson and myself,” he said.
“It was Ian Middlebrook’s idea and James Laurie did most of the carting of the cattle for the auction. Gooch Agencies donated all the yard fees and their commission.”
The 10 beasts sold for a combined $5085 and a top price of $790.
The majority were purchased by James Gooch and Curtis Patterson.
All proceeds from the auction will be donated to the Curtis Landers Appeal.
