The Magpies need a win to keep their season alive after succumbing to minor premiers the Williamtown Jets 12-6 in the final round of the regular season.
Gloucester conceded two first half tries and although they outscored the Jets 6-nil in the second half it was not enough for the win.
The loss means Gloucester finished fourth on the D grade ladder behind Williamtown, Karuah and Hinton.
The Magpies were buoyed by the presence of former junior Magpie Curtis Landers at the match.
Curtis is still recovering from a devastating neck injury suffered during a junior match in Port Macquarie earlier this year.
The elimination final will be played at 11.40am at the neutral Lakeside Sporting Complex in Raymond Terrace this Sunday.
