Perhaps they have forgotten that a blockade, together with a campsite, was set up previously in that area in December 2011.
No problems were encountered by the neighbours or police who were consulted throughout.
These are responsible citizens engaged in a peaceful demonstration to try to protect the water, land and people of Gloucester from the results of fracking for coal seam gas in a complex and poorly understood geological environment.
A large number of local people maintained their vigil for nearly two weeks and some others did come in from other areas to show their support.
Care was taken to keep the area clean and tidy at all times.
The only incidents I heard of were objects thrown at the campers from passing cars.
It seems that the troublemakers we need to worry about come from the ranks of those who support the mining industry, not from the peaceful demonstrators whose concern is with the safety and welfare of our community.
