Now in its seventh year, the event continues to attract upwards of 30 light aircraft each year with Gloucester residents enjoying the various makes and models of small planes on display.
Organisers have said that, unlike previous years, there will be no shows in 2014 just a low key lunch and a chat on Saturday with visitors and aviators.
A bon-fire will take place on Saturday night and a cooked breakfast will be available on Sunday morning for anyone keen to stay overnight.
Gates open at 9am Saturday with a barbecue lunch available.
Funds raised from the event will be donated to the Westpac Rescue Helicopter Service.
Oktoberfest
THE Gloucester Soldiers Club is hosting Oktoberfest from 6pm tonight, October 17.
Come along any enjoy the beer, food, dancing and merriment.
Foodworks supermarket has a host of German delicacies on sale for the remainder of this week.
From delicious fresh baked Kaiser bread rolls to scrumptious liverwurst sausages, you'll find it all at Foodworks.
The Avon Valley Inn will host live music from 8.30pm as part of its Oktoberfest celebrations.
German beer Big Helga will be available on tap with some tasty German food available from the bistro.
Plein Air Painters
A TOTAL of 25 Plein Air painters arrived Gloucester on October 13 and have spent the past week participating capturing many of the region's best known landmarks on canvas including the Copeland State Conservation Area, Barrington, Wellards Lane, the Bucketts and Kia-Ora .
The culmination of the week will see Denison St closed for several hours tomorrow, October 18 from 9am to 1pm for an exhibition of all the paintings completed during the week.
The artworks will be displayed in the Meeting Place for purchase or simply for people to wander through and have a browse.
Magpies Presentation
THE Gloucester Magpies annual presentation will be held tomorrow, October 18 at the Gloucester Bowling Club.
Arrive 4pm for a 5pm start. Tickets are available at the Avon Valley Inn.
The cost is $25 per head. All welcome.
