Diversional therapist Sue Tripney said the new bus ensures elderly Gloucester residents continue to get out and about.
“The new 19-seater bus replaces the old bus kindly donated to the health service by the Gloucester RSL sub-branch 14 years ago,” Ms Tripney said.
“While the old bus served us well, it was getting older and had done more than 260,000km.
“Having the new vehicle means we can continue to transport our clients and continue our tradition on annual holidays all over eastern Australia.”
Client Jean Parker said residents were enjoying the new bus.
“It’s so quiet I’ve suggested the driver has to beep the horn when he reaches my home,” Mrs Parker said.
“The plush seating makes longer trips so much more comfortable.”
The activities centre would like to thank Rose Everett and Steve Monro for their donation to tint the bus windows.
