Shortly after 7am the group tweeted that a protester had 'halted a fracking equipment convoy' at the site.
Another person locked herself to the gate accessing the site this morning (Wednesday).
In a statement released by Lock the Gate Kate Fry said, "I'm not just doing this for Gloucester, I'm doing it for everyone. I'm willing to get arrested trying because the government has sacrificed Gloucester. We are the last defence to protect this beautiful place from invasive gas fields".
Lock the Gate said a second person, a man named Liam, had locked himself to a truck at the site.
AGL will hold its AGM in Sydney tomorrow (Thursday) and further protests are expected.
A NSW Police spokeswoman said three men were detained about 6.15am on Wednesday after trying to stop workers accessing the AGL site.
On Tuesday night the Office of Coal Seam Gas approved AGL’s updated water monitoring plans, giving the green light for fracking at the Waukivory Pilot site to start.
AGL moved hydraulic fracturing equipment to the site in the early hours of Monday morning escorted by NSW police.
