Groundswell Gloucester has said it expects the approved temporary campsite on Jacks Rd that will accommodate up to 200 people to be granted final development consent as early as next week.
Since Tuesday morning, police have arrested nine people for protest activity at AGL’s site of operations on Fairbairns Lane, including four people for trespass, three for causing an obstruction and two for traffic offences.
The NSW Police has issued a holding statement through its media unit saying its first priority is public safety, that it supports the right of people to protest as long as they do so lawfully and also supports the right of businesses to go about their work unimpeded.
The Manning-Great Lakes Local Area Command has directed all inquiries on protest activity in Gloucester to the NSW Police Media Unit.
Gloucester Police Station is manned by three senior constables with additional resources made available if required.
