The Gloucester Dialogue was formed after discussions between council, the Land and Water Commissioner Jock Laurie, AGL and various State government departments.

The Dialogue concept was supposed to address concerns from council and the public about AGL’s Gloucester Gas Project. 

But Cr Tony Tersteeg said it had been months since anything discussed at the Dialogue had been made publicly available.

Cr James Hooke went a step further and told the October meeting of council that “some people might argue the whole process is irrelevant”.

Mayor John Rosenbaum, who sits on the Dialogue, said he was also concerned that the information discussed at meetings was not filtering down to the public.

“At the moment it is a closed shop. I acknowledge we’ve got to do better,” he said.

“The government departments in particular have been very slow in coming back with responses to questions.”

He said Dialogue members had resolved to publish minutes of meetings in monthly council papers in future.  

“People are not hearing our discussion. I’d like to think we can do better. If not we’ll have to re-address it again,” Cr Rosenbaum said.
