The inaugural dash is a six day, two-wheel journey through rural NSW towns in support of Aussie kids in need.
The feel good event will see postie bike enthusiasts take to dirt and forestry tracks, gravel back roads and country by-roads on a bighearted rollicking ride starting and concluding in Newcastle from Sunday, November 2 to Friday, November 7.
The ride will start at the car park of Customs House in Newcastle at 9am on Sunday, November 2 with breakfast for riders from 7.30am.
The pre-requisite for the event is to own a standard Honda CT110 postie bike and be more than 18 years of age with a spirit for adventure and a tolerance for discomfort.
The event is not a race or a rally, but rather a group of adventure seeking folk exploring isolated areas of NSW for a worthy cause.
Wearing high-viz vests and helmets, the group will take in some of the State’s most stunning sceneries en-route riding through Gloucester, Wingham, Nowendoc, Walcha, Manilla, Spring Ridge, Quirindi, Sandy Hollows and Scone.
The ride aims to raise $60,000 for Variety, with individual participants asked to contribute a minimum of $1500.
There will be a baggage vehicle to transport luggage and the Dashers will enjoy overnight stops in towns with access to quality accommodation and meals.
Family and friends are welcome to join for meals with advanced notification.
