From now until December 23, residents are encouraged to support their local businesses and spend their dollars in town by keeping their receipts from six different stores.
Once the receipts pile up to six, locals can take them into the town’s two drop-off points to enter into a raffle which boasts 12 prizes donated by local businesses.
The main prize is a Husqvarna 18-inch lawn mower valued at $500 donated by Gloucester Outdoor Solutions, and the other prizes range from candles to gift vouchers to a work bench.
“Life gets so busy, that we forget what the local shops have all around us,”Katharine Smith, organiser of the challenge said.
Receipts of any value need to be dated within the period of the challenge – November 17 to December 23. To enter, submit your pack of six receipts at Valley Motors or Gloucester Outdoor Solutions before 5pm on December 23.
Multiple entries of different receipts will be accepted.
The raffle will be drawn at 5.15pm at Gloucester Outdoor Solutions, with the lucky main winner walking away with a brand new mower.
