Newly married couple Danny and Claudia Cravino (nee Gutierrez) had quickly ducked into Hebby’s Bakery to grab a loaf of bread when the Advocate stopped them on the street last Thursday.
The happy couple, who were married on January 10 in Forster, had just performed a second wedding ceremony at Hillcrest aged care facility where Danny’s grandfather Lance Andrews is a resident.
Lance had been unable to make the ceremony in Forster and both Claudia and Danny wanted to make sure he was still able to witness their nuptials first hand - hence the second wedding.
Danny’s parents Annie and Gary and sister Mel were on hand to bear witness.
The Canada-based couple are due to fly out to their home in Vancouver on Sunday.
The couple met in a bar called the Sin-Bin nearly two years ago and fell in love over a shared plate of spare ribs.
The wedding was Claudia’s first trip to Australia. Following the January 10 nuptials the couple spent a few short days honeymooning in the Whitsundays.
