Highway Patrol officers stopped a 29-year-old man on the Bucketts Way at Stroud for speeding about 3.08pm on Wednesday, February 11.
Inquiries revealed the man’s P2 licence was expired.
He was issued with infringement notices for exceeding the speed limit by more than 20km/h and driving with an expired licence.
The mannerisms of the driver caused police to become suspicious and the vehicle was searched.
Under the driver’s seat police found 51 hexagon shaped pills.
A small clear resealable bag containing hard white powder was found in the vehicle’s ashtray.
All the items were seized by police and sent for chemical analysis.
Further charges are expected to be laid.
