Onshore winds and rain will increase as a trough deepens off the northern NSW coast on Thursday and Friday, the Bureau of Meteorology warns, bringing with it a chance of minor to moderate flooding on the Mid North Coast.
Another east coast low is expected to form within this trough on Saturday near the Queensland border before moving south to be offshore of the Mid North Coast on Sunday.
The Mid North Coast and Northern Rivers are expected to receive the heaviest rain with multiple-day falls of 150mm to 200mm, and as much as 350mm from Wednesday night to Saturday.
Friday and Saturday will see the heaviest widespread falls.
The Bureau has predicted a 70 per cent chance of minor to moderate flooding in the Manning River Valley, including Gloucester.
- Farmers are advised to monitor the weather and be ready to move their livestock, pumps and other equipment away from rising waters
- Oyster Lease Operators are advised to monitor the river for possible rises and be ready to move equipment
If the weather system intensifies, flooding could develop in the catchment.
The Bureau will then issue Flood Warnings along with the State Emergency Service who will release flood bulletins to inform the public of the situation and what people should do to protect their family and property.
