The performance will be a matinee at 2pm at the cost of $20, including afternoon tea.
The play is based on Maurie Garland’s book “The Trials of Isabella Mary Kelly”, and is the true story of a local pioneer woman who suffered great hardships and injustices in 1838.
Only one neighbour stood on her side – namely Joseph Andrews, whose descendants still live on the original holding at Mt. George.
Another descendant, John Andrews and his wife Anne, have recently moved to Gloucester to take up residence at Waukivory.
Isabella The Play has been performed three times to sold-out audiences, so the Wingham Company is proud to now be bringing the play to Gloucester audiences.
Tickets are available at Gloucester Health Food Store and at Gloucester Information Centre.
Maggie Young will be at the Information Centre on Saturday morning May 23, dressed in period costume, to assist with the sale of tickets.
She has also indicated that Maurie Garland will be at the play to sign and sell copies of his book.
