It was seen by the organisers and others who attended, that it was a very successful day which many have asked to be continued.
As a result, an event called LifestAge has been established to provide a platform to promote services, information and opportunities for people over 65 that live and thrive in the Gloucester district.
Further, due to all the changes that are coming from the new reforms in aged care, we feel it necessary to start celebrating the way of life for this very part of the community.
Put aside Friday June 5 at the Gloucester Recreation Centre between 9.30am and 3pm.
There will be a range of speakers, including Amanda O'Hara from Family and Commun ity Services.
On July 1, the Aged Care Reform will be rolled out.
This reform is to steamline red tape for clients and give them more choice.
Information will be available from state and federal government departments including:
NSW Health, Commonwealth Respite ans Carelink Centre, Gloucester Activity Centre and the 'Stepping On' Program, Vision Australia, Continence Foundation, National Diabetes Service, Elder Abuse and much, much more.
Bucketts Way Neighbourhood Group has been part of the Gloucester Community for 25 years, and the Expo is a marvellous service to those citizens over 65.
Morning tea will be provided, and transport can be arranged to the event by calling 6558 2454.
