These form part of the Integrated Planning and Reporting suite of documents.
General Manager, Danny Green said that “Council will be implementing the start of the special rate variation funded works program next year which will be separately monitored and reported to demonstrate to the community performance against these additional funds,” he said.
“The Operational Plan sets out in detail, the activities and actions to be undertaken for the next financial year targeted to achieve the community’s objectives and we want to ensure that the community understands these.
“This plan provides a detailed budget with a schedule of fees and charges which will be applicable from July 1 2015.
“To comment on a few of the key elements of the budget, we are pleased to report that our total wages bill will reduce next year by 9 per cent in real terms.
“It is also interesting to note that an early outcome of our new approach to waste management will see the levy payable to the state government significantly reduced due to enhance recycling and monitoring of actual waste to landfill.
“Our works program will see the continuation of the upgrade to our elderly units, car parks and footpaths.
“Our seal extension program will complete Bundook Road and provide for a further 2 km on Bowmen River Road.”
Black Spot funding will address Bakers Hill and further works on Thunderbolts Way.
Funding for local roads maintenance remains unchanged.
Later this year Council will commence discussion and consultation with the community on expectations and objectives for the long term.
“This process will inform Council as we realign our resources to achieve the outcomes desired within an appropriate funding plan.,” Mr Green said.
The Operational Plan including the Budget will remain on public exhibition for 28 days.
