The funding will enable the local groups to deliver specific projects that will provide ongoing benefit to the local community.

The Gloucester Lions Club received funding to assist them to construct a BBQ facility in Lions Park Gloucester. The project is being constructed in conjunction with Gloucester Council and will significantly improve the facilities in a location that is a popular stopping point for travelers and a gathering point for local family groups. 

The Gloucester Primary School P & C sought funds to support their efforts to provide new technology for students to assist with support learning programs. The funding will allow the P & C to procure 5 ipads for specific support programs, assisting students who might not normally have access to these systems so they can focus on specific learning needs. 

Enhancing Skills Gloucester will coordinate the “Try A Skill Program” with Gloucester High School and local employers. It introduces Year 9 students to a range of employers and employment opportunities.  The program assists students build relationships with local employers and to better understand various work roles so that they are better placed to make career and subject choices

Gloucester Men’s Shed received funds to purchase additional workshop equipment to broaden their range of works.

 “We often conduct repair and maintenance tasks and furniture repairs for older and disadvantaged community members, and this assistance has allowed us to access more equipment to conduct those works more efficiently,” group spokesperson Alan Cairn said.

The Quota Club of Gloucester also received funding to improve their existing storage systems to improve their capacity to support community events and conduct fundraising activities. 

“We appreciate the opportunity to provide support to community based organisations and since 2005 we have now provided in excess of $1.4m to over 400 local community groups that enhance the fabric of our communities in which we operate,” Holiday Coast’s chief executive Neville Parsons said.

 “Unfortunately we are unable to support every group that applies, as there is a limited amount of funds available each year.”

CEO Parsons also recommended that local Community groups speak to the local Gloucester Branch team of Geoff, Jenny, Chris and Amber to discover  how Holiday Coast Credit Union can assist your community group better manage its banking arrangements and to ensure that you are aware of the Community Partnership Grants process.
