Premier Baird was joined by V8 Supercars CEO James Warburton at the Overseas Passenger Terminal to unveil the three events that form a key part of New South Wales’ annual events calendar.
The Supercheap Auto Bathurst 1000, alongside the season ending Coates Hire Sydney 500 and this weekend’s Sydney Motorsport Park SuperSprint bring an incredible boost to NSW each year.
Warburton said that these events contribute nearly $100 million to the state’s economy each year.
The Sydney Motorsport Park SuperSprint heralds the arrival of the 2015 V8 Supercars Championship to NSW this weekend (August 21-23), followed by the Supercheap Auto Bathurst 1000 from 8-11 October and the season finale, the Sydney 500 December 4-6.
